A Take Stock in Children scholar, Vanessa Colchado is from Polk County and graduated from Bartow High School in 2012. She participated in the International Baccalaureate program and served as the President of Key Club. She went on to attend the University of Florida and plans to graduate in May of 2017. Her top goals for 2016-2017 are: taking and passing the CPA exam, receiving an offer from an accounting firm, and traveling somewhere before she starts working full-time. She was recently inducted into Beta Alpha Psi, the accounting honor society. This past summer she even did her second internship in tax with Deloitte and has found a way to be more proactive with all aspects of her life. Vanessa plans to pursue a career in international business, starting in public accounting and seeing where it takes her.
