Esther Benette graduated from Glades Central Community High School in Palm Beach County. While in high school, she dedicated herself to serving her community through volunteering at the First Haitian Baptist Church Youth & Children Development Center. This helped to ignite her passion for education. Esther continued her educational studies at Florida State University. While at Florida State, she began to see lot of the inequities in our current education system and her passion for education grew. She knew she needed to work towards making a positive impact on the current education system. Esther graduated from Florida State in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education. Upon graduating from Florida State, Esther was offered a teaching position at Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, Florida. She has been teaching math at Lincoln for the past five years. Esther received a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Education Policy and Leadership from American University. She recently started a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Curriculum & Development. She plans to use these degrees to continue working towards making positive changes in the education system through policy and curriculum development.
