Joel Guerrero

Joel is at the top of his class at Immokalee High with a GPA of 4.0. Joel’s mother is a dental hygienist who sparked his interest in becoming a dentist when he was much younger. He has prepared for majoring in biology and then dentistry by working as a lab assistant, intern with FGCU, and has 24 hours of chairside dental observation.

As a high school student, Joel has completed over 103 hours of volunteering with many different organizations in his community. His continually active with the church he attends, Apostolic Assembly, where he Is the Youth President and assists younger boys and girls to be good citizens and gain knowledge of the bible. Joel is also a musician on the church’s praise team.

In addition to his activities at Apostolic Assembly, Joel translates for medical students, assists at the public library with cleaning and organizing, restores artifacts at an agricultural museum, and occasionally serves as a guest speaker for the Immokalee Foundation. He would love to attend the University of Florida or Florida Gulf Coast University and then apply to the College of Dentistry at the University of Florida.
