What is a Take Stock Student?

A Take Stock in Children Mentee is a Student committed to the goal of achieving success in College, Career and Life through scholarships mentors and hope.

A Take Stock Mentee/Student will receive training and resources to support their academic journey and success. Take Stock in Children is an academically focused mentoring program that will guide the mentee toward successful completion of high school, college enrollment and completion.

A Take Stock Mentee/Student and their family sign a contract promising to achieve academic and personal goals. The contract includes regularly meeting with their volunteer mentor, maintaining good grades, demonstrating good behavior and attendance, remaining drug-free and crime-free, and participating in college success workshops.

A Take Stock Mentee/Student must submit an application through their local Take Stock affiliate. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance into the program. The Take Stock program requires students be enrolled in middle or high school and meet economically disadvantaged income eligibility guidelines. Please contact your local Take Stock affiliate for detailed eligibility, application, selection and enrollment guidelines.
