Tien Nguyen

Tien Nguyen is in his last semester as an undergraduate in Business Administration with a specialization in Agribusiness and a minor in Disabilities in Society. His four years at UF consist of studying abroad Fiji to learn about Sustainability and Ecotourism, going to Ecuador and Peru with MEDLIFE organization, serving as a mentor for TSIC Alachua county, and consulting for small businesses in Panama with Global Business Brigades. After graduation, Tien plans to attend the University of Florida graduate program in Fisheries and Aquatic Science. During his last semester in 2020, he was able to secure a lab position with a UF graduate Professor name Frank Chapman to run a snapper and grouper project. Tien is applying to local scholarships from Collier County in hope of financing for his master’s degree. After his 2 years in graduate school, Tien plans to come back to Naples, Florida to start his sustainable fish farm with his two business partners. The fish farm will grow red snapper and goliath grouper to feed Florida’s fish market.
